Tryouts have begun! Are they still considered tryouts, or is it just registration? I've heard that some schools have a no cut policy, and or rosters
consisting of 15+ players... Hate to be the coach attempting to juggle that playing time dilemma. Wait, many schools now have the policy of... If you play the
1st quarter, you can't play the 2nd. So I guess everyone will be guaranteed some sort of minutes. That rule really gets me! Let's spend time trying
to figure out who will hurt you the least, or who can get you back in the game, rather then actually coaching? That also means the player who plays
Hoops for 10 to 12 months a year, splits time with the players who shows up to practice #1 with his new "Basketball Shoes" and full length sweat
pants? That must go over well with the player and parent of the dedicated athlete? Does the coach attempt to win games, or substitute regardless of the score
or situation? Don't want to even venture a guess, but I know what the coach should be doing, just not certain that will transpire. This all being said...
I'm certain I'll see many MBNation players and parents over the next few weeks, rather it be at their games or at Hoop School, but I can only imagine
the ear full I'll receive. I love the game, just wish others didn't spend so much time destroying it.
Not sure that's how the game was intended to be played, but encourage all to stay positive, continue to improve and enjoy the game!
